Sustainability Features

We see ourselves building a company that generates a positive impact on the environment by restoring more to nature than we take. We aim to become the first climate positive furniture company in the world.

Here's what sustainability means to us:

Eco-Friendly Materials

Our furniture is made of Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified Appleply, a premium hardwood plywood renowned for its visual aesthetics, high strength to weight ratio, and fine detail. Appleply has been made in Eugene, Oregon since 1984.

Healthy Indoor Air Quality

Appleply is constructed without the use of urea-formaldehyde free glues. Additionally, all Simbly products are finished with a clear, protective formaldehyde-free coating.

One-for-One Tree Planting

We plant one tree for every product we sell through our partnership with the nonprofit One Tree Planted. Why? Trees absorb carbon dioxide, exhale oxygen, and are vital to the healthy functioning of earth. They are climate-change-fighting bad-asses.

Eco-Friendly Packaging

Our corrugated cardboard boxes are made of at least 40%-60% recycled materials. The dyes used to print our logos on the boxes are made with biodegradable, vegetable-based inks. You can recycle your packaging or even compost it.

Space-Efficient Shipping

Our flat-pack furniture ships in packages a fraction of the typical size they would be if arriving already assembled, resulting in more fuel-efficient shipping and fewer greenhouse gas emissions.

Made in USA

We manufacture our products at a family-owned factory just down the road from Asheville, North Carolina. We make our cardboard packaging boxes in Asheville too. This creates upside fo American workers and the planet by reducing the distance parts, materials, and finish products travel to reach your doorstep.
